Dialysis access surgery (fistula creation, peritoneal dialysis catheters, fistuloplasty)
If you suffer from renal impairment and are considering (or have already commenced) dialysis, you may require a fistula creation. The most common way to undertake this is a surgery to connect an artery and a vein together, usually in your non-dominant arm in the first instance.
There are multiple access options and your renal physician will usually let the surgeon know what is preferable in your case. Of course, in your consultation Dr Morrisroe will be happy to discuss the various methods and offer options.
